Adam Burlison – A Real Estate Professional

Following his discharge from military service, he formed the Rock and Roll Trio with Johnny and Dorsey Burnette. Together they would perform rockabilly music at local honkytonks and make waves across America.

Adam Burlison recently won the Albion Middle School spelling bee and will represent Albion at regional competition later in 2018.

Early Life and Education

Once his service in the US Navy ended (discharge date unknown), Burlison began work as an electrician at Sun Records. There he met and became close with Johnny and Dorsey Burnette of Sun’s Burnette Brothers duo; together they formed an ensemble playing rockabilly music at local honkytonks across Texas and Oklahoma.

Adam kept himself busy throughout his life by creating and running his own electrical subcontracting business for twenty years, as well as planting seed business and tending his ranch in Amarillo.

In 1997, Native Contractors released its inaugural solo album Train Kept A-Rollin’ as a tribute to Rock and Roll Trio on Sweetfish Records. His sons now assist him with running their company Native Contractors which currently boasts fourteen permanent locations that emphasize quality service delivery.

Professional Career

Adam Burlison has been working in real estate since 1996 and joined Knight Frank as Elmbridge Branch Head in 2017. Since then he has sold properties up to PS2m while also serving as Club Captain at Effingham Golf Club.

He attended Illinois State University before beginning his professional life at Battelle-Northwest Laboratories in Richland, Washington as a technical editor and writer, later transitioning into usability consulting and product management roles before serving on the board of an LGBTQ square dance club in Washington D.C. according to reports.

In the 1980s, he formed a band to recreate the Rock and Roll Trio with Johnny Black and Tony Austin. Later he recorded Train Kept A-Rollin’ for Sweetfish Records.

Achievement and Honors

ALBION — Since 2012, The Run for Wayne, a 3.17-mile course representing Wayne Burlison’s three months and 17 days living with colon cancer, has raised money for patients at University of Oklahoma’s College of Veterinary Medicine. Evan Steier from Albion won as male winner with 19:12 while Lindon Morici from Albion took top female honors with 20:17.

Adam Burlison from Grapevine earned the boys state runner-up medal and helped lead Mae Simmons Park Mustangs to another region title under him. Also, Jude Alvarez from Southlake Carroll won all-area boy runner of the year honors as his Dragons won both district and regional crowns under his guidance.

Bandon Dunes Golf Resort emerged victorious at the 88th OGA Men’s Team Championship Sunday at Bend Country Club. John-Michael Pilot shared in a tie for low medalist score with even par 144 on both days combined for even par totals over two rounds.

Personal Life

Adam Burlison has been working in real estate since 1996 and currently resides in Fetcham with his young family. A keen golfer, Adam has participated in several tournaments such as Effingham Trophy.

He loves spending time outdoors and attending sporting events of any sort, being very selective with what he watches on TV, and trying to dunk a basketball on his birthday each year.

Burlison made a comeback to music in the late 1980s with a recreation of The Rock and Roll Trio. In 1997 he released Train Kept A-Rollin’ on Sweetfish Records featuring songs that had been recorded by them such as “Lonesome Tears in My Eyes” and “Lonesome Train on a Lonesome Track”. Paul Burlison died September 27, 2003 at Horn Lake, Mississippi and is interred at Hinds Chapel Cemetery near Lake Cormorant in Mississippi.
