Adam Shrewsbury is a self-taught artist specializing in ceramics. His artwork marries his past career of tattooing with clay in an effort to balance form and surface decoration.

Early Life and Education

He enjoys spending his free time with family and friends, traveling, watching historical documentaries, cooking, hand carving detailed wood pieces by hand and playing golf – not to mention Formula 1 racing and rare steaks!

He was an active participant in both church and town life, serving as selectman and other town offices before becoming justice of the peace. Along with his wife, they were among the original settlers of Shrewsbury.

Adam Shrewsbury was born with severe disabilities due to contracting group B streptococcus at his birth at Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals NHS Trust in 2011. Since then, they have accepted responsibility and made an interim payment for damages. Adam has become an activist fighting for greater transparency of medical records and care services.

Professional Career

Adam has been practicing general dentistry for the last six years, providing both NHS and private dentistry at both hospital and practice settings. His speciality lies in minimally invasive techniques to help his patients achieve beautiful smiles without needing to cut teeth.

Former Northamptonshire, Warwickshire and Glamorgan bowler Paul Lafferty is undertaking the English Channel swim to raise funds for two charities dear to his heart while commemorating Tom Maynard, his close friend who died last year.

Sam joined the Foundation in 2021 as its National Career Service Coordinator (NCS). Prior to that he worked for Hereford United FC’s Community Sports Development Coach program as well as possessing an Honours Degree in Sport and Coaching. Sam oversees NCS programs across Shropshire schools.

Adam Shrewsbury is a passionate family man, enjoying spending quality time with them and engaging in various forms of sport – especially football, where he has represented Hayes & Yeading United, Whitehawk, Bognor Regis Town and Dorking Wanderers among many others.

He was part of the team that won the National League South title in 2021. Aside from playing, he also has experience working as a football coach and currently acts as assistant manager at Whitehawk.

He is also an accomplished ceramics artist, working mainly with clay since 2016. Beginning to explore this medium in 2016, his pieces balance form with surface decoration; his work often pays homage to his previous career as a tattoo artist. He currently resides in Pinckney, Michigan.
