Carmine’s Newburyport Italian Restaurant
If you are planning a date night in Newburyport, you might want to consider a stop at Carmine’s. Luca Onofri, a Peabody resident, owns and operates the Italian restaurant. His uncle Damien DiPaola, also the owner of the nearby Carmelina restaurant, taught him his trade. Tuna Arrabiata is a popular dish that is adapted from Carmelina’s Newburyport restaurant.
The first course is a thick piece tuna with a strong burn. It’s served on top of potato chips mandolin-sliced and a hot roasted serrano pepper. A sauce made from a smoky pepper will finish off the dish. And if you’re not in the mood to order a savory Italian dish, you can opt for a glass of Amarone instead.
