Carnival Accidents Caught on Tape
Often, accidents occur at the carnival. The rides are incredibly intricate, and malfunctions happen. Sometimes, it’s a crash to the ground or an aesthetic malfunction. These are not things to be taken lightly.
Ride malfunctions
Several rides malfunctioned at Texas carnivals in late April. In one incident, a 14-year-old boy fell to his death from a Sizzler ride. A video of the incident has been circulating on social media. It’s terrifying to see riders scream as something collapses.
The Magic Carpet Ride at the National Cherry Festival in Traverse City, Michigan, malfunctioned during the festival. The ride appeared to tip over as it was in motion, with riders aboard. It was then taken down for assessment. The ride was supposed to spin on one axis when seated. But when the operator tried to shut off the main switch, the ride misbehaved.
The Hydra ride in Orlando, Florida, also malfunctioned. It had 50 riders on board. As the ride swung, the platform visibly shook. The ride remained in the air for a moment, then it crashed into the ground. The ride operator was jailed for 30 days for the malfunction.
Another video, a spinning saucer ride at the North Carolina fair, went viral. When the ride crashed, people were thrown out of their seats. It was said that half of the people on board were injured.
Crash to the ground
Several people were injured in an amusement park tower drop incident in Mohali, Punjab. It is not common for such an event to occur. The locals there say the accident is all the more surprising because the fair was set to close on Sunday. Those lucky enough to be at the event said the ride went haywire as soon as it reached the top of the tower.
There was no immediate response from the medical staff at the park. Instead, the injured were shuttled to local hospitals for treatment. A spokesman for the Mohali Deputy Commissioner said authorities were “holding an inquiry into the fair’s permission to run the event.”
A video of the incident has gone viral on social media. It shows a spinning saucer ride colliding with the platform below. Some riders are seen bouncing off their seats. The video also shows a good samaritan helping a rider on the way to a local hospital.
A high-rise spinning carnival attraction broke mid-ride in India, sending dozens of riders crashing to the ground. Several were injured, with some suffering head injuries. One of the injured was a 12-year-old boy, whose spine was injured in the crash. A four-year-old boy was also seriously injured, with abdominal and spinal injuries.
Tower drop from 50ft up
Several people are injured, some are lucky enough to escape unharmed. The ride was at Phase 8 amusement park in Punjab’s Mohali district. The gaff was that of a carnival’s management, not that of a hapless tourist. The aforementioned odometer has a list of nine occupants, six of whom were children. The rest were adult males. The aforementioned occupants are all in good spirits, but the incident will be a harbinger for the future of the aforementioned carnival. The incident will also serve as an indicator of the aforementioned etiquette, namely, apologies and apology letters. The carnivals management may have to put some serious thought into their employee incentive programs and if the company is to be believed, they may have to find a new home. The aforementioned occupants are among the lucky. Several more unfortunates were sent to the local hospital for the aforementioned emergency. The aforementioned occupants are being transferred to a suitable location. As of press time, there were several occupants missing, a handful of people with their lives in limbo, and a couple of people aplenty.
