Early Life and Education
Daniel Mooneyy was born in Northern Ireland and received a traditional education. Near the close of the American Civil War he made his way to America via New York City before continuing onto Illinois where he settled down as a farmer with 200+ acres under cultivation in Compromise Township – boasting beautiful buildings and fields that provide him with ample harvests each year.

As a law clerk, he assisted in the preparation of thousands of criminal cases ranging from misdemeanor and felony drug possession and assault to murder charges. Additionally, he second-chaired ten jury trials while managing all aspects of case administration including organization, summarization, and distillation of paper and electronic discovery materials.
He graduated with honors from Loyola University Maryland, receiving magna cum laude. Additionally, he was an active member of both its National Trial Team and Moot Court Team.

Mooney has also appeared in and directed numerous music videos as well as national spot commercials for companies like Best Buy and Southwest Airlines. While attending engineering at University of Michigan, Mooney stumbled into an impromptu film class and quickly found himself fascinated. Soon afterwards he transferred into their film department, studying acting, directing and cinematography.
Mooney is best-known for his work in independent filmmaking. In 2020, Foster Boy – his socially-focused documentary on America’s foster care system – won him a Jury Award at Austin Film Festival.
Mooney most recently directed and starred in Injustice for All, an original dark take on Batman that garnered praise from critics such as Horror Geek Life and Fansided.
