Daniel Budasoff grew up with photography as part of his daily life in Buenos Aires. Since age 12, starting with Kodak Instamatic cameras, Daniel had a deep-seated passion for it which is undeniable today. Daniel later practiced prosthodontics in New York City before dedicating himself to family, friends, patients and his community – he leaves an incredible legacy behind him that continues to capture memories.
Early Life and Education
Budasoff was born in 1951 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. After immigrating to the United States as a child, he completed a Bachelor’s degree at University of Florida before receiving both his Doctorate in Dental Medicine from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine and Prosthodontic Certificate from Boston University School of Dental Medicine.
Over four decades, he was able to balance a bustling Midtown Manhattan practice with an active academic career – teaching dental students and lecturing at study clubs and conferences – making him an indispensable mentor and friend to many younger dentists.
He specializes in prosthodontics, the practice of reconstructing or replacing teeth using both natural and artificial materials, including those produced synthetically. He is a member of the American College of Prosthodontists – New York State Section as well as being engaged in charitable initiatives.
Professional Career
Budasoff was a prosthodontist, meaning he specialized in the restoration and replacement of teeth. In his practice, he held multiple roles: adjunct professor at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, lecturing frequently to study clubs and professional conferences as well as being honored with a Distinguished Service Award by the American College of Prosthodontists New York State Section in 2023.
He was also an avid traveler, particularly enjoying exploring remote locations. “To have had such amazing photos taken of those incredible mountains while cruising on a Zodiac in the middle of nowhere was truly special,” says Mr. Baroody.
Born in 1951 in Buenos Aires, Argentina and immigrating as a child to the US as an adult, he eventually attended both West Point Military Academy and University of Florida to earn his degrees.
Personal Life
Budasoff was an esteemed New York City prosthodontist renowned for providing top-of-the-line treatment. Additionally, he enjoyed an active teaching career delivering lectures at dental schools and study clubs – his wise advice and warm clinical approach were an inspiration to many students and young dentists.
He remained deeply dedicated to his family, especially his wife and two daughters. In 2023, he received a Distinguished Service Award from the American College of Prosthodontists – New York State Section in recognition of his contributions towards furthering and progressing his profession. Outside the office he enjoyed traveling and photography – an interest which started at age 12 when he first used Kodak Instamatic cameras as his medium of expression.
