Daniel Vieira – The Media Project Manager at Gilder Lehrman Center

Daniel Vieira serves as Media Project Manager of the Gilder Lehrman Center (GLC). In this capacity he oversees production of GLC podcast series and event coverage as well as helping with social media.

He assists in the construction of future millimeter and submillimeter facilities and works on cosmic evolution and cosmological surveys; his projects include studying galaxy structure and star formation at high redshifts.

Early Life and Education

Daniel Vieira serves as Media Project Manager at Gilder Lehrman Center (GLC). His responsibilities include producing the Slavery and Its Legacies podcast series, documenting GLC public events, updating its website and social media, as well as helping with any necessary support for its activities.

Lipscomb University and holds a bachelor’s degree in Exercise science. Alongside his work at GLC, he coaches BJJ and is certified personal trainer.

He is a Gemini by birth, with extrovert tendencies, making him an engaging person to spend time with. Intelligent yet always ready for fun, his cooking talent is evident through all the food he prepares for friends and family alike. Furthermore, he’s very supportive of his girlfriend and enjoys spending time together.

Professional Career

After his initial success, Vieira continued his efforts by participating in several more matches – including competing in TUF 10. In his inaugural match against Leandro Silva he won via unanimous decision.

After his MMA career flourished in America, he returned home to assist in growing his jiu-jitsu school.

After spending several years playing in Porto’s youth ranks, he was promoted to their first team on 10 June 2020. On his debut from the bench for 19 minutes of Porto’s 1-0 Primeira Liga loss against Maritimo on 10 June, and later scored his inaugural league goal against Belenenses SAD five days later on 5 July – making a total of eight appearances during that season.

Achievement and Honors

Years of hard work by Paul have resulted in numerous exhibitions both domestically and abroad for his graphic works and paintings, which can now be found in private collections both domestically and abroad.

Paula Vieira was one of his primary influences and an example to follow; instead of giving him money or material possessions she taught him the value of love and hard work.

After winning the UEFA Youth League, his name began to draw the attention of football scouts and Arsenal FC was particularly impressed. Although they lost in a final featuring Diogo Dalot, Gedson Fernandes, Florian Wirtz etc, Arsenal still wanted him as they wanted a new signing; later being named player of the tournament.

Personal Life

Gardening was his passion, while The Rolling Stones and warm travel destinations were his passions. He loved animals, particularly Cali and Sirloin his cats. He would always greet a stranger or friend warmly and offer help whenever needed.

He was an invaluable and steadfast friend to both his immediate family and the wider community. He was actively involved with Lipscomb University’s baseball program and led their men’s program to an Atlantic Sun regular season and tournament championship title in 2021. Additionally, he served as assistant athletic director at Trevecca Nazarene University.
