Dave Stetson, a former senior lawyer in the US Department of Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and in-house sanctions attorney, now advises clients on OFAC and other international regulatory compliance matters. He offers sanctions and anti-money laundering (AML) advice, leads investigations, assists with license applications, interpretive guidance requests, delisting petitions and other compliance-related tasks.

Dave Stenson holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Kettering University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Additionally, he spent over ten years working for General Motors, holding various roles within product development, engineering and program management.

He later founded his own technology consulting firm and is a member of both The Society of Automotive Engineers and The Engineering Society of Detroit.

He graduated from Kettering University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Following graduation, he went to work for General Motors where he held various technical and business roles such as Vehicle Line Director for the Pontiac Solstice to Chief Engineer of GM’s Toluca, Mexico engineering center.

Stenson was married to Denise Hoerner and had three children. Unfortunately, their relationship ended abruptly in March 1993 when Stenson shot and killed Hoerner. The case went to trial, with a jury returning an verdict of aggravated murder.
