Archuleta also admitted that he had PTSD following the finale of American Idol season 7. Archuleta was referred to therapy by another contestant. Archuleta posted on Instagram earlier this month that he had improved and that he was proud to be a member of the LGBTQ community.

He performed at the Tyler Robinson Foundation Gala. The charity helps families affected by pediatric cancer. The result was that Archuleta’s bare-chested performance was a huge hit with the attendees. Nolan Gould, who was a guest of the event, attended the gala with Archuleta. Archuleta’s performance prompted fans to share their own experiences with the charity.

Archuleta first landed on American Idol in the seventh season at the age of 16. Archuleta is now 31 and performs in the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Archuleta will continue playing the role of Joseph until September. It is interesting to note that he has a struggle between his faith and his sexuality.
