The Life of David Archuleta
David Archuleta has had an illustrious career as an international evangelist and missionary, traveling to over 21 countries where he ministered to thousands of people.
He is the founder of Praise Ministries Int’l. Through his ministry, he strives to lead people into an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. Additionally, he serves as an instructor for Bible Institutes.
Early Life and Education
David was a man of great potential who came from an esteemed family in Bethlehem, Judah. His father was a shepherd with significant land and livestock holdings.
He was an experienced military leader who served under Saul, Israel’s first king. The story of his victory over Goliath, a Philistine warrior, became legendary and cemented his reputation as a valiant soldier.
Though material evidence suggests a prosperous kingdom existed during David’s reign, historians agree that his reign did not last. Instead, his reign served only to formalize the de facto control exercised by an outlaw band he led over much of the region.
David is a litigation attorney with an expertise in patent and trademark prosecution. He is also a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and frequently contributes to publications such as Super Lawyers, Benchmark Litigation, and Legal Marketing Review.
His current role involves supervising student life, including housing and facilities operations, campus dining and retail restaurants, athletics, the Cal 1 Card office, student leadership programs, New Student Services (Golden Bear Orientation), campus safety protocols as well as other student-related initiatives. His favorite part of the job involves mentoring a diverse group of students. He’s involved in several professional organizations such as National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, American College Personnel Association and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.
Achievements and Honors
David has made a lasting impact on hydrogeology with his work on groundwater geochemistry and geochemical modeling. His codes have revolutionized our understanding of groundwater chemistry, and they are used extensively around the world by those engaged in aqueous geochemistry research.
He is widely respected for his teaching and mentoring of the geochemical community. Through his courses, he has assisted many scientists solve research and application issues, offering advice that has proven invaluable to them.
He has received multiple awards for his work, including the 2012 O.E. Meinzer award from ANS for his contributions to groundwater studies and geochemical modeling. The American Nuclear Society is delighted to honor all of Dr. Gourley’s many accomplishments with this honorary recognition.

One of his passions was music. He excelled as a singer-guitarist, songwriter and producer for Needtobreathe and All Sons & Daughters albums.
His devotion to the Lord was evident as he dedicated his life to spreading God’s word through music. He served as an inspirational role model to his students, encouraging them to use their creative talents and develop a meaningful purpose in their lives.
He always strived to be the best he could be, both at work and home. He enjoyed spending time with his wife and children, always laughing and having a good time.
