Spady was raised in Scranton, Pennsylvania where he developed his love for the blues. His father – a guitarist – introduced him to King and Albert Collins as well as many other talented musicians.
He began studying piano at a young age, then continued his education by studying classical music theory at The Haverford School under world-renowned organist Michael Stairs.
