The David Strawn Art Gallery can be found in downtown Jacksonville, Illinois and has been operating as an art museum since 1915. Exhibits at this historic home run continuously throughout the year.

David Strawn is a former Bethlehem police lieutenant who began crafting stained-glass windows in the late 90s after being inspired by one in Epworth Memorial Church in England.

Early Life and Education

David Strain began singing and playing guitar at age nine. His first guitar lesson came from Emily Fox, an established Eugene folk singer and guitarist.

At that time, Jacobs-Strain began focusing on blues music by listening to Mississippi Fred McDowell, Lightning Hopkins, and Robert Johnson. Influenced by live concerts by Taj Mahal and Walker T Ryan at W.O.W Hall in Eugene as well as by Northern California-based slide guitarist Bob Brozman from Northern California he started learning bottleneck slide quickly.

John has performed at various Oregon Country Fairs alongside Walker T. Ryan as an on-stage performer, as well as on the paths surrounding them for four consecutive years as a street performer. Additionally, he has appeared at Merlefest in North Carolina and Philadelphia Folk Festival, both prestigious festivals with international audiences.

Professional Career

David Strawn has extensive experience representing clients in complex civil litigation and criminal investigations, such as antitrust litigation, intellectual property dispute resolution and trade secret cases; securities and commodities enforcement issues and white collar crime defense defense cases.

He has over 10 years of litigation experience and has successfully litigated cases to verdict in federal district courts across the country. Additionally, he represents clients involved in employment, products liability and commercial litigation matters.

He has served on the Faculty of Federal Advocates board of directors and was 2019 board president. Additionally, he is actively involved with AfricAid, a nonprofit organization which educates girls and young women in Tanzania.

Achievement and Honors

David Strawn has an impressive academic pedigree. A graduate of Duncan Jordanstone College of Art, Trinity College Glasgow/School of Divinity and Free Church of Scotland College Edinburgh respectively, david is no stranger to academia. Along with teaching duties he also serves as Director of Development at First Presbyterian Church Jackson Mississippi.

Siegel & Strain has long been recognized for their innovation in architecture and design, winning multiple awards over the years for its designs’ ability to withstand time and weather elements. Further accolades include their dedication to sustainability through designs such as their energy efficient lighting design. Other accomplishments include their contributions to their community.

Personal Life

Strawn was an Associate Professor of Mathematics and Computer Science at Point Loma Nazarene University (PLNU) before serving as Vice Provost for International Studies and Dean of Arts & Sciences.

David has been married to Laurie for 18 years, they have one child (son) and daughter (daughter) respectively and together own a $1.8 Million home in Wind Gap.

Trial court decided that David has the capacity to work. Michlin testified that David could perform part-time activities such as coaching youth track.

Michlin testified that coaching would help David manage anxiety and depression, and stopping drinking alcohol would improve his sleep disorder. On cross-examination however, Michlin substantially backpedaled from some of these opinions written down.

David Strawn is an accomplished lawyer with a net worth of $10 Million and has been working at Winston since 2014. As a partner, he advises startups and mid-cap companies on mergers, acquisitions, spinoffs and financing transactions for mergers/acquisitions/spinoffs as well as healthcare payments/IoT/medtech/biosciences/telecommunications transactions; additionally he has participated in cross-border Patriot Act compliance programs development processes.

He has served as both youth track and high school track coach/official for 18 years, alongside working as a Ph.D candidate in his field. David and Laurie have two children together and live in California where the majority of their wealth comes from David’s law practice earnings as well as Laurie’s salary; together they bought a $1.8 Million home back in 2004.
