Gay Mage in New Jersey

The Garden State does not boast any historic gay meccas, but some towns and cities have welcomed LGBT individuals and families with open arms. Even so, LGBT issues are at the forefront of political discourse, and not every gay community feels welcome and comfortable. However, a growing number of residents are willing to embrace their sexuality as they pursue a happy, fulfilling life.

Asbury Park, Ocean Grove and the Jersey Shore all have LGBT friendly communities. Asbury Park is home to the annual Jersey Pride festival, which celebrated its 25th anniversary this summer. However, despite its welcoming reputation, it is difficult to compile a list of gay-friendly towns in New Jersey.
