Gries is an American reality television personality, entrepreneur and model renowned for her participation on the reality show Big Brother 15. Her YouTube channel boasts over 354K subscribers.
On Thursday during the live weekly episode in which houseguests vote off a contestant, she was kicked out and fired from her job at a modeling agency for her comments. Unfortunately, she remains isolated as part of a jury of ousted contestants that will determine the winner on Sept. 16.
Early Life and Education
Gries was born in Ohio in 1837 and is descended from George Washington Gries and Jane Eliza Gries (nee Gibson).
Gries attended school in Kiel, Ohio and married Dorothy Pfeifer; they had four children together.
George was an active participant in his local church and community, serving on numerous boards throughout the area.
On Friday, January 21st at 2:00 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, a memorial service will be held and private family burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery.
George was a member of both the National Society of ColonialDames and Knights of Columbus. Survived by his wife Dorothy; daughter Charlene Gries of Sioux Falls, SD; four sons George Gries (LeMars, IA), Thomas Gries (Crystal Lake, IL), William Gries (Rochester, MN) and Arthur Gries (Sioux Falls, SD), all survived him.
Professional Career
George Gries was a television producer and director who worked on several films during the 1970s. In 1975, he directed Charles Bronson in two back-to-back movies starring as Breakout and Breakheart Pass: Breakout followed shortly thereafter by Breakheart Pass.
He directed the science-fiction telefilm Earth II, featuring Gary Lockwood and Anthony Franciosa. Additionally, he produced episodes of television shows such as “Wide Angle” and “Entertainment Tonight”.
His family members recount that Gries was a devout Catholic. They recall him praying at their daughter’s wedding and providing support with health issues, according to them.
He worked as an NFL analyst for ABC and ESPN, calling several Super Bowls for both networks. Additionally, he called games featuring his son Brian Griese – who played quarterback in the NFL – who starred on those same networks.

Bishop George Gries was a distinguished priest who served the Catholic Church for over 50 years. Before Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop of Cleveland, Bishop Gries had been an ordained monk, priest and abbot.
He achieved success as a teacher, coach, principal and president; his career being recognized with numerous awards throughout the years.
His many contributions to AAPG earned him the title of Legate. He was instrumental in creating both the AAPG newsletter and other AAPG publications.
He served as chaplain for the Cleveland Legatus chapter for over two decades, and they celebrated his life with Mass, dinner and a slide show. Additionally, they presented him with a book of memories as well as an updated recliner chair in memory of him.

Gries, a prominent businessman and philanthropist, has made numerous lasting contributions to the Cleveland community. He has been active in sports, politics, Jewish causes, as well as philanthropy.
Gries’ professional accomplishments were complemented by his family background. His paternal grandfather, Rabbi Moses Gries, was the rabbi of one of Cleveland’s largest Reform temples and instrumental in founding numerous Jewish organizations.
He was both a successful businessman and generous philanthropist, founding the Gries Family Foundation in 1986. This foundation has invested in quality educational, health, and social services throughout Cleveland’s surrounding area.
He was a loving husband and father who will be greatly missed by his wife Lisa Ann (nee Karson), children Brandon, Kenneth, Alexander and Ashley; as well as sister Grace Ann Ostrow and brother-in-law Steven Karson Jr.
