Jack Shanor

Jack Shanor hails from Buffalo, New York and currently works as an actor with roles in movies and television shows. Additionally he belongs to Good Will Hose company as well as being a charter member of his borough council.

He is an outspoken supporter of democratic ideals and has over four decades of experience in contracting and oil production.

Early Life and Education

Jack Shanor was raised in Ouray and Cortez on Colorado’s western slope, graduating from Delta High School before enrolling at Colorado State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Vocational Agriculture. Subsequently, he began teaching in Kersey.

He leaves behind his wife, Gene; three children (Linda Lindley, Beverly Brumfield and Janice Jean (Brad Bugger); 32 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

He enjoyed working on ranches and farms during his free time, traveling with family members, participating in community affairs by serving on boards and organizations and encouraging their endeavors. He was especially proud to support his children’s endeavors by supporting them as they pursued their goals.

Professional Career

Jack Shanor was an active member of his community and served on multiple boards including Colorado Vocational Agriculture Teachers Association, Platte Valley Re-7 School Board, and Crops Superintendent for Colorado State Fair. Additionally, he was an enthusiastic sailing racer with years of experience who had long been part of Balboa Yacht Club where he participated in many sailing races and events throughout his life.

Jack Shanor was also a mentor and supporter to Grady Shanor, a track and field athlete with cerebral palsy who learned not to let his disorder define him. Jack and Gene Shanor were immensely proud of all their children’s accomplishments and supported their dreams as they pursued them. Jack is survived by Linda, Grady and Janice Shanor (his three sons). Additionally he was brother of John Shanor (an ex-U.S. Army soldier who died during Black Hawk Down).

Personal Life

Jack Shanor was an active member of his community and served on various boards and committees. Additionally, he was dedicated to his family life – spending quality time with his children, grandchildren and other family members; fishing was one of his hobbies as well as gardening/greenhouse activities.

Even though he had bipolar disorder, he never let it define him and instead focused on his strengths. He served as an excellent role model to many of his students and taught many lessons during their educational experience with him.

Public records reveal that Jack Shanor is currently single and unattached, though not dating anyone. He has three children: Ryan Dinsmore Shanor, Megan Nicole Shanor and two other relatives living under his care; all living in Canal Fulton Ohio where they belong to the Republican party and teach at Ouray High School where he attended as a teacher and graduate.
