Basting and Hallie Dietsch first connected at a concert in New Orleans in April 2017, though they hadn’t known each other very long. Despite not knowing each other very well, the two developed an intense bond through texts and phone calls that persisted even after their friendship ended.

Their relationship had its share of difficulties, but they eventually managed to get past them. So when he offered her a trip to Southeast Asia, she eagerly accepted.

She understood how special it would be to be with him while he was away in a foreign land, where he may not speak the language. And so they have been together ever since – she and him, in love and blissful bliss.
