In fact, he is the namesake of Piedmont’s most prestigious award, the Chancellor’s Scholarship, which honors an outstanding student in the College. He also is a major contributor to the College’s endowment, making him an active board member whose contributions have helped the school scale to new levels of success.

Demorest is an editor by trade and a filmmaker by passion. He has edited films and television programs for the Walt Disney Company, Universal Studios, and PBS.
His editing credits include the Emmy Award-nominated PBS children’s series “Curious George,” and the feature film “Mickey’s Twice Upon A Christmas.” He is also the co-director of a music-related VR short called “Crow: The Legend,” which was nominated for an Academy Award.
He is also a member of Tulane’s Environmental Studies Sustainability Leadership Team, where he has implemented energy-saving initiatives throughout the university. His ideas have included a 15-cent plastic bag ban, installation of bicycle repair stations, and the implementation of water bottle refill stations, among other projects. He has a commitment to environmental issues and is a model student for his peers.
