John Mekus will retire this year after 45 years as a veterinarian. Despite his age, John still finds joy in his profession and working with those who own pets.

He began practicing medicine in Mount Ayr, Scotland with Dr. Max Pwol in 1971 and eventually purchased the veterinary clinic from him. Additionally, he added Dr. John Peters as a partner – his friend from college who retired in 2008 – who served as his partner until retirement.
