John Ozier – Music Publishing Executive and AIMP National Chair

John Ozier is a music publishing executive who has achieved great success over his 14 year career by remaining true to his interests and following his instincts.

He is now the Executive Vice President Creative for music publisher Reservoir, overseeing their Nashville operations including signing and developing new talent. Prior to that he spent six years with independent Canadian publisher ole (now Anthem Entertainment) where his impressive list of clients included Jeff Trott, Tony Martin, Jordan Davis, Chris Janson, Adam Hambrick and Tyler Farr.

Early Life and Education

John Ozier’s early life wasn’t always smooth sailing. He had to compete in sports throughout high school, yet ultimately found his true calling: music.

Ozier began his career in Nashville as a music writer for Curb Records before joining Toronto-based ole, who owned and operated Anthem Entertainment’s music rights management company. There, he composed songs for superstar country artists like Lee Brice and Tyler Farr, co-writing two #1 hits with them.

In the United States, ECEC policies and programs are guided by a range of stakeholders such as parents, daycare providers, employers, educational, social welfare, and religious organizations. Furthermore, there is an abundance of private advocacy organizations such as think-tanks, research facilities, outreach initiatives university or foundation institutions interested in ECEC matters.

John Ozier has built a successful career as a music publisher by following his passions, trusting his instincts and working hard. His clients include Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw, Florida Georgia Line, Rodney Atkins, Clay Walker, Love & Theft and Ronnie Dunn among many others.

He’s also a talented songwriter, having co-written No. 1 hits for Lee Brice, Tyler Farr and Kid Rock.

He recently assumed the position of Executive Vice President of Creative at Reservoir, the largest independent music publisher worldwide. In this capacity, he will manage operations in Nashville and collaborate with teams in New York, Los Angeles, Toronto and London.

At his previous employer, Ozier spent six years with independent Canadian publisher ole (now Anthem Entertainment), working his way up from Vice President, Nashville Creative to General Manager of Creative. While at ole, he spearheaded the signings of Jeff Trott, Tony Martin, Jordan Davis, Chris Janson and Adam Hambrick as well as purchasing Red Vinyl Music, Parallel Music and Better Angels Music publishing catalogs.
