John is an accomplished martial artist with extensive training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, Jujutsu, Sambo and Aikido. His swiftness and agility allow him to move too quickly for opponents to react and take on multiple enemies simultaneously.

He is incredibly durable by human standards, capable of withstanding multiple gunshot wounds, stabbings and blunt force trauma without feeling any pain or discomfort. Furthermore, his incredible body has allowed him to survive falling from a building with minimal damage sustained.

He is fluent in several languages, such as English, Russian, Italian, Hebrew, American Sign Language, Arabic and Japanese. Indomitable Will: Once John sets his mind to something, he won’t stop until it is completed. This determined spirit ultimately led him to successfully assassinate Gianna D’Antonio – an heir of the Camorra mob and sister to Santino D’Antonio – by stabbing her repeatedly until she succumbed.

As a member of the New York theatre community, John Roma has earned himself an iconic place in its world. Every year at T. Schreiber Studio and Theatre’s Salute to New York Theatre event, his contributions are recognized.

John Roma enjoys an intensely close bond with his family. He spends a great deal of time with his wife, actress Roma Burnett OBE (nee Downey), and their daughter Reilly Marie Downey Anspaugh.

He maintains an intensely close relationship with his mother, Maureen O’Reilly Downey. She has been instrumental in aiding him with his career, and the two often communicate via social media platforms.

Romas, originally from Dorvitsa in central Greece, immigrated to the United States in 1952. He was ordained a deacon and presbyter in 1984 and served as Proistameno of downtown’s St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church until its destruction by terrorist attacks on September 11th 2001.
