John Silverfield
John Silverfield is an attorney in the Naples office who specializes in civil litigation, family law and real estate. His clients range from individuals and companies alike; he represents them both prosecuting and defending cases in federal and circuit courts throughout Florida.
Prior to his current role, he served as coach at his alma mater, Bolles School in Jacksonville. Under his guidance, his teams won two state championships and he was part of staffs that earned three-straight American Athletic Conference West Division crowns and four consecutive bowl appearances.
Early Life and Education
Early childhood is a critical period in a child’s development, and parents provide invaluable guidance. They teach their little ones how to walk, speak, feed themselves and comprehend the world around them.
At this age, children begin to form the foundations for social skills, self-worth and moral character that will serve them throughout life. These traits are vitally important for their future educational advancement.
In the United States, there is a vast array of programs to promote early childhood development and education – such as child care, early learning, preschool and kindergarten. Unfortunately, these initiatives often operate in siloes without coordination among one another, leading to substandard services and programs.
Professional Career
Silverfield has extensive coaching experience, having served as assistant coach in the NFL for six seasons, graduate assistant at UCF for two years and quarterbacks coach for one. Additionally, he coached high school football as head coach of Memorial Day High School in Savannah, Georgia.
He has made his mark as a coach over the past several years, taking over for Mike Norvell before leading Memphis to their first bowl game in six years. Silverfield’s success at recruiting top young players to Memphis cemented his place as the successor of longtime coach John Currie. A true blue alumnus himself, Silverfield now looks to take the next step as leader of the Tigers program.

Silverfield enjoyed a successful coaching career at Hampden-Sydney before entering the professional ranks with the Minnesota Vikings. He helped them win two NFC North division championships and reach the 2009 NFL playoffs.
