Silvernail currently serves the University of Massachusetts football program in an administrative role, overseeing recruiting, compliance and day-to-day operations. He plans official and unofficial visits, manages recruiting services relationships, organizes the annual UMass Pro Day and serves as the team’s NFL liaison.

Silvernail was an accomplished volleyball player who excelled in both Pacific-10 Conference and NCAA competition from 1993-96. She earned two-time All-American status, was named 1996 Pacific-10 Conference Athlete of the Year, and earned three All-District 8 selections.

She set WSU records for career kills (1,848) and single season kills (649). Additionally, she was inducted into the Washington State University Athletic Hall of Fame.

Silvernail, an Eagle Scout, takes great pleasure in honoring America’s veterans by placing wreaths on their graves during holidays. Additionally, he volunteers at the American Legion in Madison, Wisconsin as a part of their Veteran’s Cemetery Committee for several years. As proud member of such an organization that does its part to pay respects to our fallen heroes, Silvernail says he feels honored to be involved.

Personal Life

After one month of becoming familiar with his job, Pitt County’s new public health director had an opportunity Tuesday evening to get to know some of those he will be serving. At a brief public ceremony held during a Board of Health meeting at Eugene James Auditorium at the Pitt County Office Building, he took his oath of office.

Attended by Silvernail’s family and health department staff, Dr. Keith Ramsey served as Chairperson of the Board of Health.
