The Hawaiian-born surfer has won multiple surfing competitions in the past, including the prestigious World Junior Championship at the age of 19. In fact, he has become a household name in the surfing community and was voted one of the best talents in Hawai’i.
In his spare time, Barger runs a property management company on Maui and has a girlfriend named Leyla Anderson who is also a surfer. She has been with him for over five years and they are believed to be getting married in the near future.
He has a very large social media following, with more than 14k followers on Instagram. He posts about everything from travel, to the latest wave he’s caught and his surfboard.
His love for the sport and his desire to become a professional surfer has been a driving force in his life. He believes that he has what it takes to be the next big thing in the surfing world and hopes that this show will help him achieve his dream.
During the series, each contestant will be challenged in individual and team challenges that focus on specific surfing disciplines. Weekly eliminations will leave two men and two women as finalists who will battle it out for the male and female titles of The Ultimate Surfer and an opportunity to compete on the WSL Championship Tour, the pinnacle of professional surfing.
Hosted by former NFL quarterback Jesse Palmer, the series will feature Erin Coscarelli and Joe Turpel as commentators. 11-time surfing world champion Kelly Slater will serve as a special correspondent.
The show promises plenty of drama, rivalries and alliances as competitors train to become “the ultimate surfer.” The cast also includes a number of social media stars with big social media followings, including Anastasia Ashley, who is known for her IG influence and has hit the 1 million follower mark.
She is the daughter of pro surfer Chris Ward and fitness model Jacqueline Miller. She was raised between California and Hawaii, making her a natural competitor in the surf world.
In her spare time, she founded a camp called Camp Grommette which aims to teach girls the art of surfing. She also works as a first responder and lifeguard in the summertime.
Her surfing career has led to her winning a variety of awards and nominations, including the World Surf League’s XXL Big Wave Award in 2018. She is a YouTube vlogger and she has accumulated more than 1 million followers on Instagram.
Born and raised in Hawaii, she has a strong following on social media and is considered to be a big influencer. She was the first female to reach the 1 million followers on Instagram and has won numerous surfing competitions.
In the final episode, she will be pitted against fellow OG influencers Anastasia Ashley and Abraham Kaslow in a “hot seat” challenge where each surfer will need to perform on a wave for 30 seconds. The winner of the competition will win $100,000 plus a wild card into the 2022 WSL Championship Tour.
