Achievement and Honors
Kit Daniels has earned numerous prestigious honors and accolades for his achievements and contributions, such as playing the popular TV series Knight Rider as KITT (1982-1986) or portraying teacher George Feeny on Boy Meets World (1993-2000).
He is best known for creating the Black Student and Design (BBSD) Mentorship program which offers 12 weeks of mentoring to Black students interested in design. Meetings take place online or in person to maximize participation, creating community among fellow Black students and faculty alike. He was awarded with the Ronald F. Abler Distinguished Service Honors from the University of Utah for this outstanding service to their fellow Black students and faculty alike.
Personal Life
Daniels began his music industry career at Chess Records of Chicago as a janitor. This was where he met and heard artists such as Muddy Waters, Etta James Ramsey Lewis and The Dells for the first time. Later he moved into management and took charge of one of their wholesale record stores on Michigan Avenue district of the city.
Famed for his roles as surgeon Mark Craig on St. Elsewhere (for which he won two Primetime Emmy Awards), as KITT in Knight Rider, and in Boy Meets World as George Feeny, his strict teacher of Cory Matthews’ character Cory Matthews’ education was one of his trademark roles.
Daniels made headlines in 2018 for mistakenly misidentifying Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooter Nikolas Cruz as an ex-military service member, prompting outrage among his readers. Later, Daniels apologized profusely and admitted not conducting a comprehensive reverse image search prior to publishing the article.
