Lance Drummonds was born in Rochester, New York. He attended Kennewick High School and the University of Washington before entering military service for 9 years and 7 months with the United States Air Force. Following this commitment he moved to Ohio.

Ree and Ladd own both a cattle ranch in Pawhuska, Oklahoma as well as The Merc, a restaurant retail store located downtown.
