Artist – Laura Benjamin

Laura Benjamin has created a wide variety of pieces with torn and cut candy wrappers on canvas, drawing inspiration from popular culture as well as her experience as a small business owner.

Lor and Benjamin bring with them unique experience to Eau Claire City Council. Both possess deep business expertise, with Lor passionate about expanding Eau Claire’s entrepreneurial ecosystem while Benjamin holds extensive business credentials himself.

Early Life and Education

Laura has presented globally on her Aliyah experience and other subjects, captivating audiences with both captivating presentations and breathtaking photography. Additionally, Laura is the author of several books such as MOVING UP: An Aliyah Journal.

She holds certifications as both a DISC Behavioral Styles and Conflict Lens Facilitator and has worked with a range of organizations, such as LibDib, Junior Achievement and the US Air Force Base Honor Guard Team.

Laura and Ben collaborate remotely, with most conversations taking place via email or WhatsApp. However, working on projects together has provided them with opportunities to explore tangents of interest; from creating backstories for minor background characters to seeing what other worlds may exist beyond our own. In addition, Laura and Ben share an affection for dogs, often exchanging photos of especially adorable pups!

Professional Career

Laura Benjamin is the principal and founder of Communicate Colorado LLC, a facilitation and coaching firm. She has led team-building, strategic planning and partnering sessions at organizations throughout the country and internationally; while also possessing expertise in DISC behavioral styles and Team Dimensions.

She has volunteered for Home Front Cares’ Welcome Home Heroes program, Junior Achievement and Young Women of the West; additionally she holds memberships with both National Speakers Association and Pikes Peak Partnership.

Also possessing expertise in public policy and political campaigns, she will focus on promoting incubator and accelerator programs designed to promote local entrepreneurship. Furthermore, she intends to improve the economy of her city by encouraging existing homegrown businesses to expand. Furthermore, she is an outspoken proponent of LGBTQ rights who has spoken on this topic at numerous locations.

Achievement and Honors

At the University of Florida, she was honored to join Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society and graduated as Vice President. Additionally, she has held jobs such as working in a telephone center, selling vinyl checkbook covers and cleaning stables on a 400-head horse farm.

Benanti earned critical and commercial success in her 2008 Broadway revival of Gypsy where she received a Tony Award nomination as Louise, garnering widespread acclaim and critical acclaim for her performance as Louise. The production garnered both critical acclaim and commercial success; her performance won widespread critical acclaim and garnered her widespread critical acclaim from critics and audiences.

She has served on the boards of Home Front Cares Welcome Home Heroes Program, Junior Achievement, Young Women of the West and Colorado State Parks and Wildlife, while volunteering at Greenwood Village Food Bank and winning first place prize for her essay in Dr. Benjamin E. Mays High School Essay Contest.

Personal Life

Laura Benjamin has an immense passion for entrepreneurship and strives to encourage local business owners. Additionally, she plans on increasing incubator and accelerator programs in Eau Claire. Additionally, Laura has experience working with start-up companies and recently launched Satellite Six Marketing Agency as her own agency.

She received a Tony award nomination for her performance as Louise in New York City Center Encores! staged concert production of Leonard Bernstein-Betty Comden-Adolph Green musical Gypsy in 2008.

She offers piano, guitar and vocal lessons at her studio in Eau Claire. Her goal is to meet students wherever they are on their musical journey while helping them reach their goals. While she specializes in teaching beginners, she will work with more advanced players as well. She offers private lessons for weddings or other special events.

She and her husband run the YouTube channel Garden Answer where they post hundreds of educational and skillful gardening videos. She and her husband also run a company registered as Garden Answer LLC that they have been running successfully for seven years now.

They live on 2 acres in eastern Oregon with their family and children, where they have made a name for themselves through hard work and commitment to their craft.
