Lucas Moskowitz, VP and Deputy General Counsel at Robinhood Markets

Lucas Moskowitz serves as Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at Robinhood Markets, managing its legal group as well as government and regulatory affairs.

In the late ’80s, she set several of Dorothy Parker’s hilarious poems to music in collaboration with Francesco Paolo Paladino and Luca Chino Ferrari on an ensemble piece entitled Under an Endless Sky Tompkins Square.

Lucas Moskowitz oversees regulatory, litigation and government affairs at commission-free trading company Robinhood. Prior to that he served in various roles with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission including being Chief of Staff to Chairman Jay Clayton as well as senior counsel in their Division of Enforcement.

He has extensive expertise advising on domestic and international policy matters. Additionally, he served as counsel to former SEC Commissioner Daniel Gallagher providing high-level advice in high-level agency matters.

Last month, Robinhood’s C-suite got even larger when Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr partner Lucas Moskowitz joined as Vice President and Deputy General Counsel to oversee litigation and government affairs. Moskowitz succeeded Anne Hoge who left to join DeFi Angels lobbying firm; many other Trump-era financial regulators such as Commodities Futures Trading Commission Chair Christopher Giancarlo and SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce have since moved onto cryptocurrency companies after going through this revolving door; these include Commodities Futures Trading Commission Chair Christopher Giancarlo and SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce who are all working in crypto companies now.

Achievement and Honors

He specializes in representing corporations and individuals facing complex government investigations, enforcement actions and litigation proceedings. Formerly serving as chief investigative counsel to the Senate Banking Committee and counsel to the House Financial Services Committee.

David has also published several books, such as The Book of Lists: Horror, The Nebula Awards Showcase 2009 and The BFI Companion to Horror. Additionally, he serves on the board of directors of The THON Foundation and as a Four Diamond dancer through Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity.

Lucas has written for numerous film, music and literary publications. In addition to Video Watchdog, his essays can be found in film magazines like Film Comment. Furthermore, his liner notes and audio commentaries appear on DVD releases as well as being featured in books such as John Szpunar’s Xerox Ferox: The Wild World of Horror Film Fanzines.

As counsel to former SEC Commissioner Daniel Gallagher, he provided advice on high-level agency matters with particular emphasis on domestic and international policy matters within both Divisions Enforcement and Trading Markets. Prior to that he practiced securities law at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP’s Washington office.

He is a resident of Brooklyn, NY and in his free time enjoys reading, meditating and cooking.
