Noah Boykin Signs With Notre Dame

Noah Boykin kept college football fans guessing on National Signing Day by selecting Notre Dame over Florida and Virginia on National Signing Day. The four-star cornerback even donned blue and orange attire to his ceremony!

Boykin could become an integral piece of the two-deep offense if current starters such as Shaun Crawford, Troy Pride Jr. and Julian Love leave for NFL franchises at the conclusion of this season.

Early Life and Education

Boykin is widely considered one of the top cornerback recruits for his class. Initially committed to Maryland before changing his mind in February and ultimately selecting Notre Dame instead. If he can channel his enthusiasm into sound technique and playmaking strategies, three-year starter potential exists here.

The biblical name Noah is synonymous with its story in Genesis wherein he built an ark to save humanity from an impending flood. Although an ancient name, its modern feel gives it timeless appeal; making it popular choice for babies born during the first half of 20th century.

Professional Career

Notre Dame was widely expected to address its cornerback void with Boykin as part of their 2018 class, yet he sent shockwaves through recruiting analysts by pulling back from Maryland and signing with Notre Dame instead in February.

He is a big and fluid cornerback who excels at coverage. His smooth release off the line, ability to outwit press coverage with his inside/outside stem and ability to adapt quickly when passing poorly are hallmarks of his greatness as an underrated corner.

Boykin mostly served as a backup to TaRiq Bracy and Houston Griffith this spring, but could find himself playing more regularly next season with senior Donte Vaughn returning from injury. His size makes him an excellent safety option. Boykin has placed his name into the transfer portal with hopes of playing at a program which provides enough playing time.

Achievement and Honors

Boykin excelled during his freshman year at Notre Dame as part of a defense that led the Southern Conference in fumble recoveries, recording one sack and two pass breakups as well.

Boykin was an unexpected Signing Day win for Notre Dame as he committed to Maryland only to back out days later and instead take his chances with either Florida or Virginia.

He ultimately chose Notre Dame, having been recruited since his sophomore year of high school. His length, athleticism and advanced technique should allow him to challenge for playing time as a true freshman. I often compare him to Stanford’s Alijah Holder and Quenton Meeks who comprise one of the Pac-12’s premier secondary units.

Personal Life

After suffering through an uneven freshman season, Boykin decided to move from Kentucky to UMass under head coach Walt Bell and play cornerback. Due to NCAA transfer regulations, he will need to sit out this season despite three remaining years of eligibility.

Boykin was an unexpected four-star recruit who sent shockwaves through Irish recruiting when he announced on February signing day his commitment to Notre Dame, after experts at Rivals and 247Sports expected he would go either Virginia or Florida.

Boykin boasts an athletic body that makes him an ideal complement for Matt Balis’ defense. He can cover lots of ground in coverage, reacting quickly to 50/50 balls. As an outside corner position this season.

Net Worth

As this star keeps their personal & romantic life private, we cannot confirm what his current romantic status may be. He is, however, a successful Engineer with a significant net worth.

He is widely recognized for his “Big Black (Do Work) Clothing Line,” consisting of hats and t-shirts branded as the ‘Big Black (Do Work).’ Additionally, he holds two Guinness world records in peeling bananas and eating powdered doughnuts.

Boykin made appearances in both Rob & Big and Fantasy Factory for MTV, in addition to numerous reality TV series like Ridiculousness, Guy Code and Sk8 Life as a host.
