Two Metro Stations in the Northwest Corner of DC Shooting Today
Several gunshots occurred in the northwest corner of D.C. yesterday afternoon, leaving two dead and three wounded. The shootings happened at a pair of Metro stations in the area, at a time when many commuters were heading home after a busy day. The area is also home to several schools, including Deal Middle School and Jackson-Reed High School.
The incident at the Benning Road station on Capitol Hill was the first of the three. The area is home to an unpermitted concert for Moechella, which was not properly planned. The aforementioned concert was not sanctioned and was attended by several hundred people. Several of these folks were injured, including a 4-year-old who suffered a minor gunshot wound. The incident lasted less than 10 minutes and ended with a lockdown of the area. The other two incidents lasted longer, and were more noteworthy.
The most important part of this story is that two suspects were arrested. One man was arrested for assault with a dangerous weapon, while the other was arrested for being the big-game hunter. This was a slap on the wrist for an otherwise rambunctious group of yuppies. The area was also home to an illegal firearm, as evidenced by the shattered front end of a gray Mercedes Benz sedan.
In a separate incident, a lone man fired at least one gunshot in the area. The area is also home to a Mundo Verde charter school. The shattered front end of a black Infinity sedan is also worth a closer look. The vehicle has Virginia tags TXT6922, and the front end was badly damaged. The incident sparked a media roundtable with the requisite media gimmicks.
The area is also home to a few of the city’s best and brightest. The area is home to a number of prominent tech companies, most notably Microsoft, Samsung and Apple. The area also plays host to a number of public and private events, including the District’s annual symphony, the DC Police Academy, and the nearby Washington Nationals baseball stadium. During the evening hours, the neighborhood is host to a variety of social and cultural activities. In addition to the usual suspects, the area is also home to a plethora of musicians, comedians and entertainers.
The aforementioned incident at the Benning Road station was followed by a pair of smaller scale occurrences. A pair of teens were also caught with the ball of the eye, but this time the fabled tally was the most notable. The other was a juvenile male who was transported to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The area has been deemed a high-risk area by the Metropolitan Police Department. The area is also home to a few noteworthy sites, including the Smithsonian Museum of the American Revolution, the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum, the National Museum of African American History and Culture, and the U.S. Capitol. It is also close to the upcoming Nationals Park, where the Nats are scheduled to play the New York Mets tonight.
