Early Life and Education
Peter Oliver stood out among both slaved and free artisans of Moravia by being permanently trained in his craft: pottery making was his calling and its sale allowed him to buy his freedom; through such work he transcended bodily servitude for spiritual equality and solidarity.
He was a man of many talents; in addition to his successful business career, he was also a philanthropist and inventor, developing new methods of cooling plow shares. Oliver and Little Iron Works was founded as his company to manufacture cast-iron household products and cannonballs.
Sach Oliver has over two decades of experience working in the auction industry, starting out as a porter but since becoming the company’s Managing Director. Together with his team he is dedicated to giving back to their community.

Sach Oliver used his talent for public speaking to win a mock trial competition while still attending law school, giving him access to sit as both counsel and second chair at jury trials prior to graduation – something rarely experienced by law students. Since then, he has established his own firm which now employs over 20 attorneys and staff members.
He relies on his experience, communication skills, and local property knowledge to assist commercial real estate clients throughout Knoxville. In particular, he excels at identifying investment opportunities within healthcare facilities.
After 25 years in the automotive replacement parts industry, Jerry decided to use his business acumen and communication skills to assist individuals in purchasing or selling businesses. Additionally, he is an active member of his community; participating in microtia awareness fundraisers as well as other causes.

Oliver’s groundbreaking work in contemporary American Indian fine art has won him both national and international acclaim. He has held many exhibitions as well as public lectures and presentations; donated pieces to local schools; as well as given away pieces through charity organizations he donated them all over. Oliver was honored with receiving the Charles Odegaard Award which honors individuals for outstanding contributions made toward UW diversity efforts.
This fall, Oliver Messel will auction off an array of one-off works he created exclusively for Flaxley Abbey in Gloucestershire as his sole country house commission.
