Renesha Thomas – A Life Well Lived

Renesha Thomas was known for being kind, bold, and expressive with her freedom of expression. A truly wonderful young lady whose charisma never outweighed her kindness or compassion.

Javian Hunt and Jalen Thomas; her mother Carstine Blackmon; stepfather Raymond; bonus mom Sharon Tousant; sisters Tiffany Tousant and Veronica Davis as well as an extended family and circle of friends are her legacy.

Early Life and Education

Renesha Thomas was raised in Galveston, Texas. She was a dedicated mother to two daughters whom she loved deeply as well as being loved and appreciated by family and friends alike. Renesha found great pleasure in spending time with them all and enjoyed spending her free time doing what she enjoyed best: socializing.

She dedicated her career to improving social-emotional and academic outcomes for students with special needs – particularly those living in urban or alternative settings. She earned both a bachelor’s degree from Elizabeth City State University as well as a master’s in education with an emphasis on mild/moderate disabilities from Southern University and A & M College.

Renesha had an extended family, including her children Javian Hunt and Jalen Thomas; mother Dina Thomas; bonus mom Sharon Tousant; aunts Cynthia Senette, Lurcetia Davis and Tracey Canada as well as numerous relatives and friends. Renesha was known for being both kind and bold while exercising her freedom of expression freely.

Professional Career

Renesha Thomas was a Pharmacy Technician who took great pleasure in her profession and enjoyed working alongside her co-workers. Additionally, Renesha was an adoring mother to Javian Hunt and Jalen Thomas whom she greatly cherished. Renesha leaves behind to mourn her passing a loving mother Carstine Blackmon; step-dad Richard Tousant; bonus mom Sharon Thomas; sisters Tiffany and Sasha as well as beloved aunts Cynthia Senette, Lurcetia Davis, Tracey Canada as well as many more family and friends.

Achievement and Honors

Renesha Thomas was an exceptional young lady renowned for her brilliance among her peers. She held memberships in several honor societies and received many academic awards and distinctions, being listed in Who’s Who among Students in American Universities and Colleges list in 2007.

She was an attentive mother who deeply loved both of her children. She loved spending time with family and was known to enjoy gathering them all together for family get-togethers. Additionally, she was strong, independent, and knew how to express herself freely through freedom of expression.

She was an exceptional student and member of the Black Faculty and Staff Association. Additionally, she earned the prestigious Black Scholars Award – this accolade recognizes juniors with high academic standing who honor UA’s early black professors: Hanna Anissa Benkhraba, Byron J. Bennett, Rhonalda Wynette Bonner, Jeserica Beauty Dejanee Brinson Maya B Eatman Makaylah Y Kirk Kirk Esther Nyarko

Personal Life

Renesha Thomas was an amazing mother to two children whom she cherished incredibly. A strong believer, Renesha always tried her best to give back to the community with her kindness. Renesha will be deeply missed.

Relatives describe her as an attentive mother and dedicated sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend. Her beauty was only exceeded by her generous spirit and compassionate character.

She leaves behind two beloved daughters, Javian Hunt and Jalen Thomas; her mother Dina Thomas and step-father Richard Tousant; both grandmothers Pinkie Blackmon and Betty Jean Colston as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends devoted to her memory – all who knew and loved her will cherish their memories of her! Her memory will live on in all those who knew and loved her.
