Coughlin was widely considered one of the top high school football recruits nationwide during his time at Ansonia High School in Connecticut, playing quarterback, wide receiver and defense while earning numerous accolades such as state’s Player of the Year honors and first team All-American accolades.
After graduating law school, he spent time as an associate with a Wall Street firm before transitioning into the legal department of an insurance company where he now specializes in coverage litigation.

Coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars for eight seasons, leading them to four playoff appearances and one AFC championship game – and considered one of the most successful expansion franchise coaches ever in NFL history.
Coughlin earned three All-Pioneer Conference offensive guard awards while playing for Drake University and later mentored all-conference offensive linemen Sidy Sow and Brian Dooley.
He holds two Super Bowl victories with an 182-157 (.537) record across 21 NFL seasons, earning himself 12th-winningest head coach ever and twice receiving the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award.
