Steve Densham – Business Advisor for Northwestern Vermont

Densham recently changed up his approach, no longer running sub-5 second runs on the NHRA Full Throttle Series full time but making seven to eight starts annually in both his modern drag race car and 1969 Chevy Camaro nostalgia Funny Car.

Early Life and Education

David brings extensive volunteer experience in the community, having previously served on WDMH’s Board of Trustees and owning Wattie Karate for children, an instructor-based karate and first aid program. Furthermore, his business background brings not-for-profit, governance and management knowledge that will complement and enrich his Board work.

Densham has since transitioned to running only select events within the NHRA Full Throttle Series, yet still competes seven to eight times each season in both his modern fuel Funny Car and 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Nostalgia Funny Cars. He credits his father Gary Densham with helping guide him towards this point in his career.

His film work includes writing, producing and directing several dramas in Canada. Additionally, he has directed television episodes reintroducing The Outer Limits anthology series to American audiences.

Professional Career

Steve serves as Business Advisor and Hospitality Industry Specialist for Northwestern Vermont and all of Vermont. With extensive experience ranging from hospitality, wholesale meat & seafood, travel and recreation industries as well as community volunteerism through boards such as South Nation Conservation, Morningside Place retirement residence, SDSG Conservative Board and North Stormont Shop Local page; his knowledge is diverse.

Steven Densham, son of veteran NHRA Funny Car driver Gary Densham, made his NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series debut Friday in Las Vegas. The reigning March Meet champion qualified his 1969 Camaro Nostalgia Funny Car 11th at Circle K Winternationals alongside Matt Hagan, Tim Wilkerson, Terry Haddock Chad Green Alexis DeJoria Ron Capps and Cruz Pedregon – among many others!

Achievement and Honors

Steven Densham has earned numerous accolades and awards during his distinguished career. He founded Insight Productions in Toronto, known for producing documentaries. Additionally, he directed television dramas; one such project earned an Academy Award nomination – If Wishes Were Horses.

He has written several books on screenwriting and selling creativity in Hollywood, such as Riding the Alligator: Strategies for a Career in Screenplay Writing (And Not Being Eaten), published in January 2011.

Densham may no longer compete full time on the National Hot Rod Association Full Throttle Series circuit due to his focus on running match races with son Steven, but still makes seven to eight starts each year across Western United States using both his modern drag race car and 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Nostalgia Funny Car.

Personal Life

Densham is also an acclaimed business adviser and works with both start-up businesses and existing ones to assist in growth and expansion. He possesses extensive experience in hotels, wholesale meat & seafood distribution, travel & recreation as well as fulfillment industries.

He’s transitioned away from full-time racing in the NHRA Full Throttle series but still competes seven or eight times annually, teaming up with son Steven this weekend at the NHRA Las Vegas Nationals.

Densham has also published his own book entitled Riding the Alligator: Strategies for a Career in Screenplay Writing (And Not Getting Eaten). Additionally, Densham co-produced Star Trek: Deep Space Nine as well as working on revamping Rod Serling’s The Twilight Zone series for television.
