Steve Peppin, a businessman from Willmar, will run for mayor again in 2022. He had earlier run in 2018 (which was won by Marv Calvin), as well as running for Willmar City Council Ward 2 seat in 2016.

Professional Career
After 22 years in the Navy and numerous countries and missions completed, Pepin decided to switch careers and become a police officer in Brentwood, California last year.
Peppin campaigned on an agenda of providing higher-paying jobs to Willmar residents while expanding activities for teenagers and young adults. He pledged to maintain city parks while also reintroducing an ice rink into downtown Willmar.
Pepin currently works at OASIS Alignment Services, a division of In-Place Machining Company, where he is accountable for meeting sales goals in the Northeast region as well as service delivery, customer relationship building/management, technical report writing and more. Prior to this he held roles such as Optical Engineer and Northeast Regional Manager.
Achievement and Honors
Steve Peppin has been appointed Northeast Regional Manager at OASIS. In this capacity, he oversees their Service Center in New Hampshire and Satellite Service Center in Pennsylvania. Steve previously held positions with OASIS including account management and technical writing.
He co-owns Pep’s Barber Shop and Relentless Ink Tattoo and Piercing in Willmar, Minnesota and was honored as a two-sport athlete and track and field and football champion at FPC.
Experience in union-related matters is his forte and he regularly advises clients regarding compliance with laws such as WARN and USERRA. In 2005, he received the THEA Lifetime Achievement Award from his peers in the themed entertainment industry.
Personal Life
Steve Peppin was an outstanding son, brother, husband, uncle and friend. As a 22 year veteran of the Navy he earned numerous accomplishments and missions as sonar technician, rescue swimmer and special warfare combatant craft crewman.
Steve was an accomplished fisherman, holding many Massachusetts bass fishing records. Additionally, he enjoyed music and dancing. Steve was known for his kind heart and friendly demeanor; both will be greatly missed by family and friends alike.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Pepin; son Joshua Pepin; three sisters: Rochelle Bonville (and Fred), Karen Bakerink and Robert (New Bedford) and Suzanne Patrone (East Providence); as well as several nieces and nephews. Arrangements were handled by Claridge Funeral Home of Marlborough.
