Hodge was the mixer on nearly every record that left Jam & Lewis’ Flyte Tyme Studios during his 17 years working behind the scenes as mixer, including notable New Orleans figures like Zydeco legend Professor Longhair and bluesman Clifton Chenier.

Hodge is best known to Vancouverites as the host of Project Bakeover and Great Chocolate Showdown. He now owns Dundarave Temper chocolate and pastry shop and regularly hosts these competitions.

Early Life and Education

Hodge’s family remember his piercing voice and stories about discipline, dreaming and purpose with fondness. Founder of Charis Ministries and anointed as worship leader/songwriter; married to Shirleen Powell Hodge as well.

Flyte Tyme West in Los Angeles provides them with an LA-style recording studio where sessions with up to 20 musicians in the room pose quite the tracking challenge.

As a child, Steve was immersed in the aromas of fresh baked goods from his mother’s bakery. Later he attended high school and university in Vancouver before making the move to pursue his career in America. Steve enjoys traveling, reading, doing research on almost any topic as well as watching Husker football; in his free time he enjoys jogging, piano playing and listening to music – his hobbies!

Professional Career

Steven Hodge has worked across a range of industries and roles. His experience spans everything from redesigning operating models for universities and non-profit organisations to overseeing large programs of work for Australian government departments and global manufacturing operations.

Hodge enjoyed an accomplished career as both a professional footballer and England international. While at Nottingham Forest he earned several club honours such as Player of the Year in 1982-83 as well as back to back Football League Cup victories.

He is perhaps best-known for helping Diego Maradona score his famous “Hand of God” goal during the 1986 World Cup – an experience he often discusses as a football speaker at public and virtual events. Additionally, he published his autobiography entitled, The Man with the Maradona Shirt.

Steven Hodge is an outstanding professional with an exceptional record of project delivery across a broad spectrum of projects and initiatives. With a passion for diversity and inclusion and expertise in leading organisational design, strategy, and implementation in universities, non-profits, and government departments.

Hodge played for Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur and Leeds United during his footballing career. He earned 24 England caps during that timeframe, appearing at both World Cups – scoring in one game against Argentina when Diego Maradona scored his now iconic ‘Hand of God’ goal!

After retiring from the Air Force, Hodge set off into food service, opening Temper Chocolate & Pastry in Vancouver BC. His classically trained culinary career includes stints at Wolfgang Puck Catering as well as London’s Le Caprice, Wolseley and three Michelin star Restaurant Gordon Ramsay.

Personal Life

Hodge is a dedicated family man and Lara is his wife; both can often be found working together at Temper, which has quickly become part of Dundarve’s community since opening its doors in January 2014. Temper has quickly become part of its community with each couple’s children often helping manage its day-to-day running.

Both Bishop Hodge and his wife lead spiritual lives and are actively involved in their local church, Holy Trinity C.O.G.I.C in Hartford, CT where he served for many years before transitioning into leading Charis Ministries. Meanwhile his wife serves as choir director at Holy Trinity C.O.G.I.C while anointing Psalmist serves at this same church where both serve as Ordained Ministers; these two also share four children – Tyrone Samuel Isaiah Steven all living in Hartford Connecticut!
