Steven Tillinger is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) practicing in Corpus Christi. Initially trained at Arthur Andersen, he has also taught tax courses at Houston University as well as participated in CPA on Call telecasts and national tax conferences.

Strong will portray John Gruenn in Bradley Cooper’s Leonard Bernstein biopic Maestro for Netflix, following up his Emmy-nominated performance in Succession.

Steve enjoyed engaging people in conversations, whether at a restaurant table or conference. His ability to relate with others made him particularly valuable and always looked for opportunities to find out more about their lives. Furthermore, he was an incredibly committed family man.

He was predeceased by both of his parents and sister Marie Cooley. Doris Tillinger he leaves behind are her two daughters Marsha Luff (David) and Steven Tillinger (Nancy); grandchildren Kristen Parker, Courtney Siedlecki Allison David Tillinger Aleena Tillinger with five great-grandchildren Olivia Sydney Alexandra Parker as well as many nieces nephews and friends to cherish his legacy.

His presence will be greatly missed by everyone he knew. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date; instead of flowers, donations can be made in his name to Zion Lutheran Church in lieu of them.

Steven Tillinger is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) specializing in tax issues facing small business and professional individuals, and an adjunct professor of taxation at a Texas university. Initially employed with Arthur Andersen but then later becoming partner at BDO Seidman. Since joining these two firms he has taught numerous courses for both Arthur Andersen and Houston Baptist University while hosting national tax conferences as well as annual Partners meetings.

He currently serves as Director, Architecture of WMK Architecture in Australia since 2007; working in this industry since then.

Steve was an enthusiastic admirer of classical music and would frequently attend local theater performances to check out what was playing there. He delighted in engaging in meaningful dialogues with people, whether that was with waiters bringing him his breakfast or fellow attendees of CPA conferences across Texas.

Achievement and Honors

Steve Tillinger was an exceptional family man and highly revered among friends and colleagues. A sought-after instructor, his teaching style combined practical with theoretical knowledge that made students love him immensely. He never missed an Indians or Buckeyes game and enjoyed working crossword puzzles. Additionally, he was a loyal supporter to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and always available to listen when concerns arose. All who knew him will mourn his loss as he was an outstanding gentleman who will be dearly missed by everyone he left behind, particularly his wife of 63 years, Doris; children Marsha, Steven and Nancy as well as grandchildren Kristen Parker Courtney Siedlecki Allison Tillinger Jeffrey Tillinger as Jeffrey Tillinger as Jeffrey Tillinger himself.

Personal Life

Steven Tillinger was a vibrant person who always looked for opportunities to connect and learn from others. He delighted in engaging everyone he encountered in meaningful conversation, from waiters bringing breakfast or fellow attendees at CPA conferences, all the way down to waiters bringing breakfast or fellow conference-goers at CPA conferences. An avid classical music enthusiast, Steven frequently attended concerts in Corpus Christi as well as listening to classical albums while driving around Texas on business meetings.

Thomas Tillinger was an active member of TXCPA Corpus Christi and served as its president. Additionally, he served on the boards for both Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra and Friends of Music Society. Survivors of Thomas’ life include Doris Luff and Marsha Luff of Marsha Luff and Steven Tillinger as well as grandchildren Kristen Parker (Bruce), Courtney Siedlecki Allison, Jeffrey and Kristen Parker’s great-grandchildren Olivia Sydney and Aleena; predeceased by parents and sister
