Thomas Pepe is currently employed at Plant Food as its Territory Manager, an established 1946 company which employs approximately 50 people.
Pepe takes two salsa classes per week in California and thoroughly enjoys them – they provide him with loads of entertainment! He also greatly values working at SENA, an institution offering vocational programs.
Early Life and Education
Thomas Pepe is an amazing example of someone who dedicated their life to giving back. A true gentleman and beloved member of many communities around him, Thomas will always be remembered fondly as being humble yet genuine and humorous with an outstanding sense of humor.
He earned both his undergraduate and master’s degrees at UConn; additionally, he obtained a sixth-year certificate from Teachers’ College at Columbia University.
He not only writes episodes for the series but also serves as executive producer and has written for other children’s television shows such as Angelina Ballerina, Tractor Tom and Fireman Sam. Prior to leaving during series 23 (when replaced by David Stoten) he served as head writer.
As well as teaching canon law at Rome’s Pontifical University of Saint Thomas, he served in various positions at the Chancery. Additionally he acted as Vice Promoter of Blessed Katharine Drexel. He holds a Bachelor of Canon Law Degree.
Pepe has appeared in over one hundred films and 300 television shows during his long career, most notably Scarface (1983) where he played Al Pacino’s drug dealer as well as Silverado (2000) a western.
Pepe enjoys numerous hobbies ranging from salsa dancing and astronomy to writing articles published online and taking salsa classes for over ten years – his daughter Jessica rowing at Columbia while sister Nicole volleyballed for Mercy College.
Achievement and Honors
Pepe was the inaugural nationally elected President of NAEMSP and created numerous premier educational offerings that have trained thousands of newly appointed EMS Medical Directors. She pioneered best practices for multi-casualty incident management, law enforcement tactical medicine concepts, mass gathering healthcare preparedness as well as authoring several textbooks in these fields.
Pepe also founded Communications Strategies Inc. (CSI), one of New Jersey’s fastest-growing independent marketing communications agencies that created and implemented award-winning public relations/marketing campaigns to elevate women as gatekeepers for family health.
She has received two honors from her peers – Neubert, Pepe & Monteith Scholarship as well as New Jersey EMS Association Lifetime Achievement Award.
Thomas Pepe is an exceptionally generous individual who has contributed greatly to the community through charity work and teaching English at Columbia’s National Training Center (SENA), an institution offering technical and vocational programs.
He represented Portugal at four FIFA World Cups and several UEFA European Championship tournaments, collecting 134 caps for his nation and scoring three goals overall.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jean Pepe; sons Jason and Thomas Pepe, stepdaughter Sandra Toole, grandchildren Brandon, Kirk and Justin Bracco as well as his sister Pauline Pepe as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He resided in Hanson Massachusetts before passing away at SECU Hospice House of Johnston Health Clayton North Carolina on August 30th 2022.
