Thomas Tilley is an Australian journalist with an original approach. He hosts Hack, a daily news program on Triple J youth broadcaster Australia. His direct and sometimes confrontational style has caused debate and even outrage from critics of journalism.

Early Life and Education
Thomas Tilley was born in Weare, Somerset, England. While attending local grammar school he met Annie; soon thereafter they married and had three daughters – Lilian, Bessie, and Ella. Unfortunately Annie died of tuberculosis on 11 May 1914 and was interred at St Andrew’s Church in Compton Bishop.
As soon as he arrived in New Brunswick in 1844, he joined a debating society and the Portland Total Abstinence Society; eventually serving on its committee and advocating for prohibition legislation.
He was also an architect, designing several buildings across the province. Specifically, he won a competition to design the County Courthouse (and his plan won out over Otto Matz’s plan), as well as designing schools, churches, and other public structures.
Professional Career
Tilley distinguished himself during his career by leading several fighter pilot squadrons as commander, in addition to fulfilling other duties within Air Defense Command. A truly dedicated husband, father, and friend; Tilley will be missed dearly by those he knew him best.

Professor Tilley is the senior author of more than 225 peer-reviewed papers, serving as an introductory plenary speaker at the 2016 International Congress of Endocrinology and being an active researcher at Dame Roma Mitchell Cancer Research Laboratories (DRMCRL) using genomic techniques and patient derived models to study how sexual hormones influence tumor behavior.
