Early Life and Education
Thomas Tisbo is an American businessman and the founder of Suncast Corporation. Born June 29th 1949 in Kings Point New York he attended Kings Point High School before earning a bachelor’s degree from Queens College. Tisbo holds multiple patents for his inventions and currently resides with his family in Barrington Illinois.
Suncast was established by him in 1994 to manufacture and market fiberglass and plastic products used for use in construction and remodeling projects. Its headquarters is in Batavia, Illinois; manufacturing facilities exist both domestically and abroad – employing approximately 2,000 worldwide.
Professional Career
Thomas Tisbo has been competing in the equestrian world since she was young, under her parents’ tutelage of Eugenia and Jeannie who are professional horse trainers and helped her to realize her goal of becoming a professional. Now living in Wellington, Florida where she owns Tequestrian Farms Training Facility & Stable.
Antonio Contreras, an American born Mexican national living in Batavia Illinois manufacturing facility for Suncast Corporation was hired as a forklift operator by Thomas Tisbo then serving as President, Michael Hamilton then serving as Vice President, John Baunach Manager of Human Resources, and Randall Guillotte Production Flow Supervisor responsible for overseeing forklift drivers. It was during Tisbo’s time there that Contreras reported harassment and discrimination by Thomas Tisbo to John Baunach Manager of Human Resources who failed to take corrective actions or take corrective steps when reported. When reported this misconduct Tisbo did nothing. He later sued Suncast Corporation alleging they failed in taking corrective actions when informed them of its illegal acts against Contreras when reporting it.
Personal Life
Tisbo is married to Eugenia “Jeannie” Tisbo and together they share one daughter named Lauren. The family resides at ***** Overbrook Rd, Barrington IL 60510 but also owns three limited liability companies which collectively own a 5.6 acre parcel in Wellington according to public records.
Tisbo has performed in various theater productions, such as The Importance of Being Earnest and Travesties by Remy Bumppo Theatre Company; Sense and Sensibility and The Mousetrap by Northlight Theatre and Arcadia by Court Theatre. He also practices improv comedy with ALL CAPS at Chicago’s iO Theater.
He spends much of his free time competitive riding and training horses at his family’s Tequestrian Farm, competing in eventing competitions, winning several championship titles along the way, while developing his passion for equestrian science through many research trials on horse health and well-being.
