Welkin Gunther is one of the main characters in Valkyria Chronicles. He was a university student before the Empire invaded, and he earned the command of Gallian Militia Squad 7. He specializes in animal sociology, which gives him a detailed understanding of Gallia’s native flora and fauna. Welkin also fell in love with Alicia Melchiott, and the two were married after defeating Maximillian. They have a daughter, Isara. She is named after Welkin’s sister.

Audrey Blackwell is another great character from Valkyria Chronicles Remastered. She is one of the most versatile and competent lancers. Her Personal Potential allows her to find more ammo and she works well in a team. She has high evasion around other lancers and high Camaraderie, which increases her ability to work in a team. Audrey is also very effective against tanks and has Ultimate Antiarmor, so her attacks against them will be more effective.

There is an extra way to unlock Special Recruits in Valkyria Chronicles Remastered. These stories allow you to learn more about each character and unlock their bonus potentials. These characters can be unlocked by completing certain quests or using specific characters. Valkyria Chronicles 4 features solid combat missions and a new character type called Grenadier. The game also has a more diverse story line and side-quests than the first game. While it is longer than its predecessor, the game does have some repetitive cutscenes and some cliched quests.
