Victoria Azarenka is a professional baseline tennis player from Belarus. She began playing when she was seven, encouraged by her mother. Steffi Graf’s calendar Golden Slam event of 1988 served as her main source of motivation to pursue tennis professionally.

She manages to combine both her tennis career and raising Leo with managing relationships; though the identity of her current partner remains unknown to the public.

Early Life and Education

Victoria Azarenka was born on the 31st July 1989 in Minsk, Belarus to parents Fedor and Alla Azarenka from a middle-class family; she has an older brother named Mark and moved to Scottsdale Arizona when she turned 15 to begin tennis training; Steffi Graf is her inspiration.

She can speak fluent English, Russian, French and Ukrainian – something her parents are extremely proud of and support as she embarks upon her career as a professional tennis player.

Billy McKeague and she parted ways after Wimbledon 2017, prompting a custody battle over Leo. Eventually she prevailed in this case early 2018; now single, she balances raising their son with winning yet another Grand Slam singles title.

Professional Career

Victoria Azarenka was introduced to tennis by her mother Alla at seven. To engage her daughter fully in the game, Alla gave Victoria a racquet along with instructions for hitting against walls.

At the 2005 Miami Open, Azarenka made her top-10 debut by defeating Jelena Jankovic in straight sets. Later that clay season she proved formidable against 2004 French Open champion Anastasia Myskina; pushing her all three sets at both Italian Open and Wimbledon Open tournaments.

At Wimbledon, she defeated Alberta Brianti, Dinah Pfizenmaier and Marion Bartoli to reach the quarterfinals before falling in three sets to Caroline Wozniacki in the semis – dropping her down to number eight in world rankings at that time. However, two Grand Slam titles soon followed – Australian Open and US Open respectively.

Achievement and Honors

Azarenka’s fierce competitiveness and remarkable skill have propelled her into one of the greatest players of her generation. She has won two Grand Slam singles titles as well as many prestigious tournaments; additionally she has claimed multiple doubles titles to achieve a career-high ranking and maintain a stellar record on court.

At the Olympics, she excelled, winning both a bronze medal in singles play and gold in mixed doubles with Max Mirnyi. Alla and Fedor Azarenka provided invaluable support throughout her tennis journey.

In 2012, she won her maiden Australian Open championship and finished 2012 at the top of world rankings. Additionally, she set a single-season prize money record by amassing an outstanding win-loss record of 69-10 and six titles during that season.

Personal Life

Victoria Azarenka was raised by Alla and Fyodor, both being highly influential figures. Both encouraged Victoria to pursue her goals, providing financial support when necessary, and accompanying her at tournaments from an early age as an integral part of her upbringing.

She credits German player Steffi Graf as her primary inspiration; Graf won a Calendar Golden Slam title in 1988 which inspired her to achieve similar success on court. Additionally, she became the first Belarusian male or female to ever win a Grand Slam singles tournament title.

Azarenka began dating American musician Redfoo, from LMFAO. They dated briefly until parting ways in 2014. Since then, Azarenka is engaged to tennis professional Humberto Lobo Guerra; together they have one child called Leo.
